The Swiss Army certifies MillenniumHD for new film scanning suite

The Swiss Army have installed a MillenniumHD film scanner and an imageMill GRACE image enhancer at their Electronic Media Centre in Bern.
After extensive testing and evaluation of many film scanning solutions, the Swiss Army chose Cintel’s MillenniumHD ‘data-cine’ film scanner fitted with 16mm and 35mm film gates, SD and HD video outputs and optical and magnetic sound options. In addition, an SD HD imageMill with GRACE film grain management was purchased.
Film transfer expert Kathrin Schneider explained ‘We looked at a number of film scanners but only MillenniumHD gave us the right combination of speed, image quality and flexibility. The internal colour correction is extremely powerful and coupled with the imageMill GRACE film grain management solution, we are able to produce excellent High Definition transfers of our 16mm and 35mm material at real time in a single pass. Having a future upgrade path to 2K and 4K resolutions, at speeds up to 15fps was also very important to us’.
Simon Carter, Cintel’s Sales Director, commented; ‘The Swiss Army’s tests were quite exhaustive but we’re pleased to say that MillenniumHD was more than up for the job. We’re very honoured indeed to add such a prestigious organisation as the Swiss Army to the growing list of Millennium users’.
