(www.max-t.com), developers of ultra high performance software-based solutions for networked storage infrastructure and media management, have announced that Cintel International (www.cintel.co.uk), the world leader in motion picture film scanners and telecines, has confirmed the advantages of bridging the film/data divide with Sledgehammer. The Cintel portfolio of products includes scanners, telecines and image manipulation tools. It has recently expanded with the addition of diTTo, a Super 2K & 4K data centric scanning system developed specifically for high quality efficient film scanning. After subjecting Sledgehammer HD!O Dual Link to a rigorous period of internal testing, the interoperability between Sledgehammer and film scanners within Cintel's UK facility became rapidly apparent. Cintel Business Development Manager, Simon Clark said "Sledgehammer is an extremely powerful interface between the worlds of film scanning and data networking. The ability to ingest 2K data from our dataMill scanner at 15fps - as well as Super2k at 4.5fps and even 4K data at 3 fps from our new diTTo scanner via GigE- makes it the perfect film/data bridge for a Digital Intermediate workflow". "Digital Intermediates can be summarized as the non-linearization of the entire film post production process. As complex as that may sound, there is a pretty simple solution - get gear that works well together," said Mike Hughes, Maximum Throughput's VP of Business Development. "dataMill is an exceptionally powerful film transfer engine with unique abilities. Its range of film formats is second to none and the speed of transfer is incredibly fast. T he versatility of diTTo, namely fast, high quality data transfer at an affordable price, makes it an essential part of any Digital Intermediate solution."
